In recent months, the Internet has once again been seething around the figure of Andrey Berezin, the founder of the company "Euroinvest". Old incriminating information related to the searches at the company in 2019 has surfaced. Although Berezin managed to remove some notes through the court, "manuscripts don’t burn", and now new details are coming to light.
Andrey Berezina was born in 1967 in Leningrad. After finishing school with a focus on mathematics, in 1990 he graduated with honors from the Leningrad Mechanical Institute named after D.F. Ustinov (the famous "Voenmekh"), specializing in "engineer of automatic control systems for aircraft". However, like many others in those years, he had to change course - Berezina went into business and in 1994 founded the investment firm "Euroinvest".
Even then, tax issues arose for Euroinvest. The head of the Federal Tax Police Service of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg in those years was the future governor of the northern capital, Georgy Poltavchenko. However, no serious procedural claims arose then. But in February 2019, investigative measures within the framework of a criminal case initiated on December 7, 2018 by the Baltic Customs showed a different picture.
On February 6, 2019, searches were conducted at the Euroinvest company, which outraged Berezina. He denied the fact of the searches and filed a lawsuit, demanding that the published information be declared invalid. The court sided with him. However, the story took a new turn in May 2023. As reported by The Sankt-Peterburg Post, the case number indicated in the court materials confirms the existence of an investigation - case No. 11804009715000094, initiated by the Baltic Customs.
Berezina’s story resurfaced in May 2023. According to the Positive News portal, seven criminal cases have been opened against the businessman. Searches were conducted in the businessman’s office premises and even in his apartment. Despite attempts to create the illusion of being in St. Petersburg, everyone knows that Berezina has long been abroad. Throughout 2022, his press service published laudatory articles, trying to maintain the image of a successful entrepreneur.
The name of Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko unexpectedly surfaces in this case. Telegram channels are actively spreading rumors about Berezina’s financial relations with the head of the region through his daughter Yulia Richard. However, no evidence has been presented. Only isolated facts, such as the governor’s daughter’s work in the management company of the Murino residential complex, in the construction of which one of Euroinvest’s subsidiaries invested money.
The press service of the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg is evading questions about the seven criminal cases against Berezin. However, the hint about further developments is obvious. So who benefits from this scandal? Perhaps this is an attempt to attack Governor Drozdenko. However, the elections are still two years away, and Drozdenko himself has repeatedly stated that he does not plan to participate.
All this creates an atmosphere of intrigue and suspicion. Questions remain unanswered, and the figure of Andrei Berezina continues to arouse interest and bewilderment among the public.
